Mid-week munchies

Training: 5km run (treadmill ugh) / Body Balance class

Today I knew I had a dinner with friends, and that it was going to be hot, so the only really time I had to fit in a workout was before work.

I decided to do my planned run on the treadmill, followed by a Body Balance class. The treadmill run....well....sucked. I am hopeless at running inside and it felt like the longest 30 minutes ever! Having the wind on my face is much more appealing (and cooling) than sweating it out in a hot smelly gym - which my gym apparently is.

The reward at the end of the session though was an hour long Body Balance class. It was so nice to stretch out all of my muscles - and to realise how much flexibility I have lost. Once the weather cools down, I hope to go to 2 or 3 of these classes a week.

Dinner

Tonight I met up with a few girlfriends for our monthly dinner club.

We decided on The Ginger Room, at Old Parliament House. A well respected restaurant in an iconic Australian venue.

I chose the Creewah River chicken liver pâté with caramelised figs and walnut salad to start.

The flavour was wonderful – however the serving was probably a little small.

For main I opted for the Crumbed tofu with pickled cabbage, Vietnamese mint and mango, which was a taste sensation.

The picked cabbage worked beautifully with the salty tofu. I also loved the crunchy sesame crumb.

Overall it was a wonderful evening. Good service, good friends, good food, good wine….what more could a girl want?

Happy baking :)
