6 things I learned today…

Training: Body Pump / Bike 34km

1. Body Pump is a wonderful way to start the weekend.

2. However,  accepting Mr BBB’s offer to join him and his 3 fit mates for a mountain bike ride afterwards may not be the wisest thing to do. For my legs at least.

3. If I am going to join Mr BBB and his mates for a ride, it would be a good idea to enquire how far they plan to ride. Otherwise, a ‘short’ ride could turn into 3+ hours on the bike!

4. It would also be a good idea to enquire where they intend to ride. That way, it is not as shocking when you are climbing your 15th hill.

Some more sealed than others…

And some that leave you positively exhausted!

5. Takeaway dinner is a must when your legs are dead, your tummy is rumbling, and it is 6.45pm.

Particularly when vegetables and rice noodles are involved. And gatorade. And it is eaten out of the container while standing over the sink to avoid getting your chairs dirty…pure class ;)

Because, after all, eating is a higher priority than showering after 3+ hours on the bike.

6. But the best way to end an unexpected day of adventures, is a cool bath and big bowl of ice-cream. Now that is a good lesson learned!

What about you? Learn anything new today?

Happy Baking :)

  1. Hi Lisa,
I was just mentioning the value of eating icecream on a hot day, but went one better and made your fabulous spinach salad. Now I've cooled down and I feel virtuous :)

Body Pump then a mountain bike ride - you're made of tougher stuff than me (nice work BTW!)
    Cheers
    Liz ;)

  7. Well, you certainly got in a workout today. I'm tired enough after doing a session like body bump and certainly couldn't handle a 3 hr bike ride - with hills, esp. in the heat we've been having. Besides taking the girls to roller skating lessons I spent the whole day inside - though I did manage to get quite a few things accomplished, exercise was not one of them. I assume you didn't have the 41 deg that we did !

  9. Excellent pictures. I can't tell you how nice it is to see trees with leaves on them. We have probably three months until spring rolls around and our leaves will sprout!

    That noodle dish looks awesome!
