Biking … fail ;)

Training: Biking 10km (ish)

This morning Mr BBB and I woke to sunny skies and warmish temperatures. The perfect conditions for a morning mountain bike ride.

We loaded our bikes onto the car and travelled for 40 minutes until we reached our riding destination….

Kowen Forest!

Keen to try our some new trails, our ride was almost over before it began, when Mr BBB realised that his front tyre was flat.

Flat tyre repair (number 1) completed – we finally made our way into the forest, and were met with some smooth trails and fantastic single track.

Joined together with fire trails….

Although it was not only us using the trails.

Also out enjoying the sunshine were some other slithery creatures!!

All was going well until around 40 minutes into our ride.  Mr BBB took a corner too quick, resulting in him hitting the deck, and his front tyre again coming up flat.

He was ok – but his tyre was not so, so I decided to head back to the car and come collect him.

Sounds easy right?

Until I too got a flat tyre about 1km from the car!!

It doesn’t get much flatter than that!!!

Seriously???? Today was NOT our day :(

Oh well, there is always next time right???? And by next time I mean next weekend, weather pending ;)

Although we had numerous biking fails, our weekend was anything but a fail. Rather, it was filled with loads of kitchen and baking wins!

But I will save those ‘wins’ to share with you another day.

Let’s just say they were delicious ;)

Happy Baking :)

  4. Oh how I remember the days of multiple flats in one ride - what a pain in the arse! Looks like the two of you had a good ride though - definitely makes me want to get a mountain bike again and hit the trails too!

  5. I remember the days of biking freedom...now I pull one kid, yell at two kids to slow down, and holler at another to keep up. Good times.
