Crown Living

Training: Run 5km

Whoa – today was a long one. It all started with a 4.30am wake up call and and an early flight to Melbourne, then was quickly followed by a city meeting, a road trip to Bendigo for another meeting, and then a return drive back to the city.

Needless to say, I was seeking the creature comforts of my hotel by the end of the day.

And boy what a hotel the Crown Metropol turned out to be.

A neat work station…

With a view!

A luxurious bed….

A glorious day couch….

A spacious bathroom…

With some lovely extras…

But the city scape view….

Not too shabby ;)

As soon as I walked in the door, I changed and headed straight to the hotel gym. I really wish I had taken my camera, creepy as that may be, because the gym was delightful. A large room filled with modern cardio and weights equipment, located on the 27th floor and providing wonderful views of the city. Let’s just say it was the perfect distraction as I pounded out 5km on the dreadmill.

Then, rather than head out for dinner, I opted to dine in – BBB style.

GF wrap…

Hummus….

Leg Ham…

And spinach.

All wrapped up and ready to go!

x 2. Ok they may not have been that pretty – but they were an easy breezy hotel self-catered dinner!

But now another special extra calls my name….

A selection of the latest magazines courtesy of the hotel? Don’t mind if I do!

What about you? Do you self cater meals when you stay in hotels? What are some of your favourite self catered dinner ideas?

PS. I am so happy to find out that I am not the only one who loves breakfast for dinner (or “Brinner” as Jo called it!). I will have to share my secret to poaching eggs soon :P

Happy Baking :)

  2. I do the EXACT same thing on business travel. Most other options are so fatty and devoid of things like vegetables. Always scope out grocery stores in advance to stock up on baby carrots, snap peas, fruit...yum.

  3. Nice hotel! I love stopping by a grocery store and making my own meal when traveling. That way I always know what I'm eating, and it's usually cheaper.

  9. Wow that hotel looks amazing. That bed looks mighty comfortable. I think the first thing I would do would be to lie down on the bed rather than hit the gym though..

  13. Yay Melbourne! I am off there next weekend, I wish I booked that hotel though! How divine.

I usually eat out when I stay at hotels, which is a bad habit but fun at the same time!
