Thankyou for your sweet comments about my last post. I feel so much better when I try to ‘keep it real’, particularly when it means acknowledging that things are a little overwhelming at times!
Today has been all about work, playing and packing. And by that I mean fitting in some work tasks, playing with my favourite gal, and packing for our first road trip to Sydney as a family of 3!
Exciting yes…but also a little daunting too. And it certainly got me thinking about a ‘Five things Friday’.
1. Heading on an overnight trip with a 3 month old requires a lot more “stuff” than as a couple.
Between the pram, the carrier, bedding, blankets, clothes, nappies, toys, mats and other incidentals, I am curious as to what space there will be left in the car for us!
2. Why do I always wait until the weekend to have roasts?
When midweek roasts are rather delightful (and provide lots of leftovers for a roast lamb sandwich this evening!)
3. I have officially lost my ‘pregnancy-induced warmth’. And I am freezing as a result! It looks like it will be gloves and scarves for me for the foreseeable future.
4. One thing I have not lost since pregnancy is my love for vanilla ice-cream.
Yes, I know I just said that I was cold. But it seems that I would rather wear an extra layer of clothes and indulge in this icy after dinner treat than give it away over the cooler months. ‘Tis deliciously wonderful.
5. I just ordered an artwork for our living area, and I am so very excited! Can’t wait to share some ‘before and after’ pictures with you when it arrives.
But now, time to stop blogging and get these bags packed! For they are not going to pack themselves.
What about you? Plans for the weekend?

Oh mid-week roasts! yum. I'm so impressed with you, how you're still blogging and working and doing so much with a little one. We'll be packing for our upcoming honeymoon!!!! 1 week to go :) Have a great weekend!

oooh most exciting! cant wait to read all about it (and live vicariously through you!!)
Deletegood luck with your travels with miss c - hope she sleeps at all the right times - that makes travel with a baby easier! and keep warm - sounds like a chilly weekend ahead - glad we only have on indoor activities (though I imagine the acquarium wont make us feel warm)
ReplyDeleteThanks Johanna! Enjoy the aquarium! Sounds like fun!
DeleteOh this will be exciting!! Good luck and hopefully you get some time to relax too :)
ReplyDeleteTaking it easy this weekend - it's too cold to do anything but rug up and possibly move from the bed to the couch :P might manage to head out to meet friends lol - they're lucky they're good friends :P
What an exciting weekend ahead - I hope it goes well and Charlotte decides to like travel! I also relate to eating cold things despite being cold and am glad it isn't just me - although your cold is more intense than ours I think, so rugs and extra clothes and heaters may be required!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend! We had an exciting one, some filming on Saturday and lots of good food balanced with boring house work and cleaning up. But hey, at least it wasn't raining! :P
ReplyDeletei'm glad i'm not the only one freezing! i was the same when pregnant, no where near as affected by the cold.
ReplyDeleteWe're craving roasts too, it must be the icy weather! Packing for a little one certainly is an experience- imagine if you had twins!
