A speedy salad

Thankyou all for your sweet words of congratulations about the Cook Off! It really was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait for the next round – even if it is 8 months away!

We returned home from Sydney late Sunday, feeling rather tired and rather ‘indulged’ after all the wonderful food that the city has to offer.  So much so that instead of the usual rich, slow cooked meals I have been having lately, I was craving salad.

So salad it was.

Albeit a ‘pumped up’ salad – with grilled chicken, greens, mushrooms, carrots, tasty cheese and avocado.

With a sprinkle of cashews for crunch.

Thrown together in around 10 minutes, and eaten in about 2 minutes flat. I seem to have become a ‘speed’ eater since Charlotte arrived!

What about you? Are you a quick or slow eater?

I have always been a pretty quick eater, but having a baby (who can be rather unsettled during the evenings) has turned me into a super speedy eater! I think I need to slow things down a little….

  1. Love this fresh salad, would be lovely for dinner!! I used to be a faster eater (although not fast, as such), but now I've become quite slow because Ben is THE slowest eater ever haha.

  2. Yum. You know how much I love salads, but not for dinner in Winter. I'm probably an average eater. I do like to savor my food but find I eat pretty continuously until it's all gone :-).

  3. My friends with babies say the same thing about speed eating!

  4. This looks like a super salad indeed - albeit a little less appealing than it would be if it was 10'C warmer :) My eating speed varies quite enormously, from quite slow to rather fast!, depending on the food and circumstances and my mood. I enjoy it more when the pace is on the slow end though!

  6. I eat quickly - probably too fast - very frustrating when I live with two slow eaters but at least it is helpful when trying to help sylvia

  8. Your salad looks great and I'm not surprised you ate it so quickly! I find that good food can often be hard to take your time with. I'm especially digging the avocado on top of your salad - what a great way to subtly enhance the flavor and fiber content of your dish. Yum!

  9. Your salad looks awesome. I've been eating plenty of slow cooked and hearty meals in this cold as well but love to interspace them with a great salad.

I'm a medium/fast eater. One of my sisters is so slow it makes me angry to watch!
