Remembering to breathe

I touched on this subject a little while ago, when I was feeling rather stretched. Stretched thin while trying to find the right balance between being a Mum, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

And as I find myself literally flitting from one thing to another some days, most days actually, I thought I should revisit it again.

For there are too many moments during the day when I find myself holding my breath.

Forgetting to breathe.

It’s kinda silly really. I literally have to remind myself to exhale. And then to take a big breath in.

While I am quite good at managing my time, and can get quite a lot done during the day, when I have hundreds of things floating around in my brain at once, it seems I hold my breath and forget the simplest of things.

To just breathe.

Perhaps I need to make  date with my yoga mat sometime soon….

Anyone else out there that can relate?

  1. With a 5 week old, I completely relate. I find myself clenching my jaw all the time now. Being a new mom is so much harder than I had expected, and balancing that with the sleep deprivation...yikes!

  3. Yep totally relate - I've been feeling really emotionally drained over the last few weeks and found myself holding my breath too. Hahah actually it's funny because I just posted yesterday about lessons we can take off the yoga mat into real life and this was one of them.

Get back to yoga if you can :) And breaaaaaaaathe.

  4. I'm doing that this week too. In fact, 'just breathe' has become my mantra of late. I have 3 -4 more weeks and then a break, so breathing is going to be key to get me there!

  5. I need that reminder often. I hold my breathe too much.

  6. Remembering those days and sending good thoughts your way (I have a 16 and 18 year old). You're a strong woman. And, don't forget, after childbirth it takes a while for your hormones to settle down.
