1. I couldn’t help myself and added another cookbook to my ever-growing collection.
I found this one in a sale bin, but it is brilliant! So many beautiful recipes and menu planning ideas. I can’t wait to try some of them out.
2. It’s time to get serious with our landscaping endeavours. You might recall that quite some time ago, we had a landscaper create a ‘blank canvass’ for us, by creating pathways and putting garden bed edging into place. Sadly, another year has passed and that blank canvass is, well…still blank. So enough is enough – and we are going to get to work on creating what will (hopefully) one day be a beautiful garden.
I started by turning over and preparing this garden bed near our kitchen / living room windows (and I have the blisters on my hands to prove it). We are hiring a rotary hoe this weekend to hopefully turn over the other beds, then after some soil preparation, it will be time to spend a small fortune on plants.
Wish these ‘not-so-green-thumbs” luck!
3. The little Miss has a new favourite ‘game’ that involved unpacking. Be it shelves, baskets, bags….you name it….she will turn it from full to empty in no time at all.
4. And just for a heart-melting moment, each night Mr BBB reads to Charlotte and it is the most precious thing to see.
Gosh I love these two.
5. Aside from some serious garden prep, this weekend will also see us attending one of my favourite events – the Multicultural Festival. I can’t wait to indulge in all sort of international food goodies!
What about you? What are you up to this weekend?

I am soooooooooooo sooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooooooo pumped for eating my way through the Multicultural Festival! Will keep an eye out for you! Just look out for the girl with stains all down her shirt, sticky fingers, and food on her face ;)
ReplyDeletelooks like a great new cookbook! can't wait to see what else you make!
ReplyDeleteI know this won't help your cookbook addiction, but I can highly recommend this book by my friend Mish Koen. She makes restaurant quality meals easy, and the book has lots about prep etc. in it too. The meals are delicious!

Mish is now on to her second self funded publishing run.
I would love to be going to the multicultural festival but I think I will just be working on my own blank canvas. We have plenty of half started projects around the house too :0
ReplyDeleteGreat price for the book. Looks like a good one. I remember of the unpacking phase all to well :-).
ReplyDeleteNot much planned here for the weekend. Amy has gone to Sydney for a friends bar mitzvah (and has the feast tomorrow) which will be an experience for her as we don't know any Jewish people. Kevin's gone into work, Christy has a friend over and I'm hanging out on the couch with my pups :-). Hope to do some scrapbooking later.
looks so hot in that photo of Mr BBB and Charlotte. Hope you enjoy the book and the gardening and find lots to interesting stuff at the festival - we went to a festival by accident today - not such a bad thing but the playground where we were headed was overcrowded. Sylvia still loves unpacking stuff - I try and keep it to her stuff and wish I could tell you I always succeed!
ReplyDeleteaww she is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe little miss is sooo cute! Lucas loves to take everything out of his toy chest and undo all my folded laundry. i wish they were good at putting it back too :)
